Eligibility
All the apartments at Accabonac are assisted through federal rental assistance programs and eligibility for tenancy is based on income. This is a multifamily project and there is no age requirement.
To qualify for tenancy the total, gross household income must be at or below 30% of area median income (AMI). This number is published by the federal government's Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The size of unit depends on household composition. Tenants must be year-round residents and may not own property. Annual inspections and certification of household composition and income is required.

The Accabonac Apartments were completed in 1999. There are 50 one, two and three bedroom apartments on a cul de sac surrounded by 30 acres of preserve. Twentyfive apartments are subsidized through the Community Development Corporation of Long Island with project based rental subsidy and twentyfive units are rent assisted by the Town of East Hampton Office of Housing and Comunity Development through the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program. This is a low income housing tax credit (LIHTC) project through the NYS Division of Homes and Community Renewal. Tenant rents are adjusted to 30% of household income.
